Posting earlier this week because of the Holidays... And to wrap this crazy year up, I want to show you what I drew based on the game you guys played the other day. There were four beautiful, honest stories shared, and I did not know how to choose, until it chose me. I was going through something in my own life, raging at an old friend who talks about me as if I'm some inspirational tragedy, and not knowing what to say because I think of myself as an inspirational tragedy too

The Hope Series: Hopeless
October 5, 2016 I finally understood that nameless' name was Hope. #love #TheHopeSeries

The Hope Series: Broken Ribbon
This is a special piece to me, because at first I really did hope that somehow making art and exposing myself on the internet would attract the kind of person I was waiting for, the kind who maybe is drawn to ripped fabric, and I hoped for that quite intensely when I drew this, before realizing how completely insane it sounded. Still, I think there is pride in carrying our broken ribbons on the outside, but when no one shows up in a hood, it does make you want to hide it away

The Hope Series: Knots
Back when I drew this, I felt like I had run out of subjects to rant about, and definitely didn't have any good news to share. So, like every other artist, I tried some wishful thinking, but created a nameless character in order to keep it honest, hoping that one day it might be fun to reveal his or her identity. Nameless is the person who, among my knots, finds the gifts I have to offer. #love #TheHopeSeries
